Diria National Park

(2004). The newest national park. Since 1991 a protected zone.
It is placed 9 kms South-West of Santa Cruz in Guanacaste province. It encompasses a valley where origins 4 rivers: Tigre, Verde, Enmedio and Diria. It is placed on elevations between 200 - 1.000 m.a.s.l.
It is covered by 4.000 ha of dry forest and humid tropical forest (Guanacaste, spiny cedar, guayava). It is inhabited by red brocket-deer, northern tamandua, howler monkey, collared peccary, grison, aguti and 134 species of birds. It is planned to build a hanging bridge for tiurists.
