(2.309 ha). It`s placed in Cartago province, in Cordillera
Central. It`s main element is towering til 3.432 metres above sea level Irazu
Volcano - the highest volcano in the country. In cloudless days from its top
it`s possible to see both oceans at once. (They say it`s the only place in
America where you can see such a sight).
Most of the vegetation in the park is sparse and stunted.
The predominant species is is the arrayan, which is very leathery shrub.
Wildlife on Irazu is very scarse. There are coyotes, tiger cats and colibres.
