The pilgrimage to Ujarras
|
On March 16th from Paraiso to Ujarras there is organized
the pilgrimage that commemorates the saving the town by a Virgin from the
pirates attacks in 1666.

he day of saint patron of San Jose
|
On March 19th there is a Day of Saint Joseph - the patron
of San Jose. The masses and special fairs are held.

The art festival
|
The international art festival is held through the last two
weeks of March in San Jose. It consists of dance, music and theater groups
performances. Besides there is the jazz, folks and classic music concerts. It`s
destinguished by spectacular inauguration and closing ceremonies. The festival
is called sometimes "The Olimpic Art".

The scarlet macaws continue of laying the eggs.

The day of ox-carts drivers
|
On the second sunday of March, in San Antonio quarter of
Escazu there is the so called The Day of Boyeros (ox-carts drivers) celebration.
In traditional parade take part about 100 caretas from the nearby
villages.

Lomas de Barbudal Reserve
|
On March in the Lomas de Barbudal reserve the Cortez trees
are blooming into yellow.

Humbak whales
|
The humbak whales appear nearby the Cano island.

The National Orchid Festival
|
It`s held on every March 15th. The tipical endemic species
as well as from the rest of the world are put for show.

The farmers day
|
It`s celebrated on March 15th in the whole country. But its
main celebration takes place in Tierra Blanca (on Poas volcanoe slopes). It`s
for honour of saving in 1877 that terrain from the locust epidemy.
