GANDOCA-MANZANILLO NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
(9.449 ha). It`s situated on the Caribbean Coast, in Talamanca Canton (Limon Province). The coast of the refuge consists of several reef outcrop interspersed with white, sandy beaches. It stands out by different spevcies of magrove forests. The Gandoca Estuary lies south-east from of refuge and is made up almost exclusively of red mangroves. There can be spot oysters, manatees, tapirs, crocodiles and harpias.
